The Media. The Celebrities. The Real World.

Hello, lovely people! Hope y’all doing well. So here I am after a long time. Was stuck with exams. Well, procrastination.

So this thought stuck my mind.

Media’s role-play.

Alright, so here’s the tour d’horizon.

Indian cinema lost its very precious star, Sridevi. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones.

Now, coming to the point – THE INDIAN MEDIA. THE HYPED INDIAN MEDIA.

They are running errands to cover the where(s), why(s) and how(s) regarding the star’s uncanny departure.

Open any app – you’ll find updates about her. Launch any news channel – you’ll find updates about her, coupled with her past. The internet is flooded with this, and only this. This is very disturbing and the media doesn’t let her rest in peace. In this way, they give us SADMA ( ‘shock’ or ‘trauma’ in English).

The media is so damn hyped that they fail to bat an eye about the gut-wrenching things happening in Syria. God-knows-how-many children and innocent people are dying. The media is so obsessed about the bloody TRPs and SEOs that they forget the very meaning of humanity.

It feels like there is no empathy left. The most distressed sections are ignored.

I’ll be frank – I was googling images to insert, each and every image depicting Syria skipped a heartbeat of mine. It’s spine-chilling. May God save the innocent.

Isn’t it ironic that the commentariat is busy covering the star’s issues and absolutely forgetting what’s happening in Syria and other parts of the world?

The media is found to be going exponentially obsessive about the celebrities’ lives in general, mostly about glitz and glamour, their woes, their sufferings, etc. But have they ever given a thought about the needy people?

No. What they do is – they get an update, they fabricate it. They magnify it. They glorify it if they’re pleased. They absobloodylutely flood the news channels and the internet world with the same news with added masala. And they get attention.

It’s high time they step back into reality and start covering the very relevant aspects in and around.

What’s your take on this? Feel free to share your thoughts.
